BHIM BHIM BHIM! As this app is becoming famous in the Indian market, what is BHIM App? Actually, BHIM app is a Bharat Interface for Money (after Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar) a new digital payments app which was announced last week by Honorable Prime minister Narender Modi.
It is a Mobile app developed by National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and based on Unified Payment Interface (UPI). It was launched during demonetization and cashless transaction drive.
BHIM App Features
BHIM App is a fast, reliable, secure cashless payment through your mobile phone. It is available for Android users but doesn’t worry in some days it will also available for IOS and Windows users. It will support Aadhaar based payment where transactions will be possible through fingerprint impression. The UPI app supports all Indian banks which are live on UPI platform and built over the IMPS infrastructure and allows you to transfer money between any two parties.

It allows you to send or receive money to other UPI payment addresses. You can also send money through IFSC code and MMID (Mobile Money Identifier) Code to users who don’t have the UPI-based bank account. Firstly you should register your bank account with BHIM, and set a UPI PIN for the bank account. Your mobile number is your payment address and you can simply start transacting.

It allows you to check current balance in their bank accounts and also allow users to choose different bank account for conducting transactions. There is also an option of creating your own QR Code (Quick Response) for a fixed amount of money.
Note: At a time, only one bank account can be active. It is available in Hindi and English Language only. More languages coming soon.
BHIM Mobile Wallet
Please note it is not a mobile wallet as it is directly linked to a bank account, one does not need the same app for making payments. It allows you to track debit card transactions while other apps do not do that. It allows you to send or receive money directly from your bank account while other wallets like Paytm or Mobikwik which have limited amount of money for transactions and firstly you have to add money in these wallets.
If your UPI is activated, you can just ask for VPA (Virtual Payment Address) just to make the payment. It will replace the bank account details and act as the payment address (bank account details).

Transaction: A maximum of Rs 10000/- can be shared per transaction and total of Rs. 20000/- can be sent through within 24 hours.
